Dwarec Mercs has finally opened our applications which have been closed for quite some time. We are looking for solid players who want to experience Karazhan and higher level TBC content. If you are interested please post a little about yourself in our INTENT TO APPLY FORUM; you will need to sign up for access to our forums. We're looking for Warriors, Priests and Mages but also are open to other classes to fill our our ranks as we progress through TBC.
The Dwarec Mercs is an established gaming guild that has made a presence in gaming well before World of Warcraft came into existence. It’s membership spans several continents. Players have come together to form a tight-knit circle of friends dating back to the origins of the guild in April of 1999. The main focus of DM is to have fun with friends. While the focus of DM in WoW is raiding, raids have never been, and never will be mandatory.
If your main goal is to get loot, or you are just bored and want someone to entertain you, this isn’t the guild for you. Some of our current members have been with DM since the beginning. Many joined us in World of Warcraft. We have players here in WoW, and in the online game Vanguard. Some of our members are still playing Everquest. Some have taken a break from gaming, but still stop by the forums to share their life experiences with us and see how their old friends are doing. The average age in DM is around 25 years old. Most members work full-time jobs.
Because of DM's longevity, our membership is not the kindest to new members. We are generally untrusting, and we believe that respect must be earned. It is not given freely. As an Applicant and a New Member, it will take time to acclimate. We all have our inside jokes, and if people don't like you, no one will be afraid to tell you so.
In previous games, and for a good portion of our time in WoW, we have kept a long application process. Due to the game mechanics of WoW, we have decided to split our initial application process. This will allow new members to get into the guild experience faster, but we will still reserve judgement until we get to know you better. While WoW is just a game, DM is made up of real friends and real family. If this isn’t what you are looking for in a guild, then this isn’t the place for you.
We will test you in the application process. The application process is intended to allow us to get to know you, and give you the chance to get to know us.
The level limit for applicants is 70. This limit may be waived for real life family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving Mercs~!
11.23.2006
Another year comes and goes and we've all grown in various directions. It's amazing to me to look back over the years and see how much has changed, for us, within us and to us. Nevertheless, we perservere, as a guild and as a family. For those of us that's moved on and are unable to spend as much time online, we miss you, you're not forgotten, Happy Holidays. For those that log on constantly, contribute on a constant basis to this online family, thank you, your presence doesn't go unnoticed. For the officers that continually strive to help us get through content, that shoulder the responsibilities and emotions of 70+ people, we can't thank you enough. Happy Thanksgiving Mercs, may you and yours have a blessed one.
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Thanks Soreick for the requested picture of Turkeys with tentacles killing the pilgrams. Great job!

All Hallows Eve
10.18.2006
With the holidays upcoming, here is a small post to acknowledge them. Unfortunately I chose to do this on a night when there's no one home but me and two cats in a huge two story house that was built in 1938. There were two things that spooked me as a child, the legend of sleepy hollow and scooby doo (don't ask). I hope your Halloween is a good one Mercs.
Heh, some interesting details:
Phasmophobia is a fear of ghosts.
Wiccaphobia: Fear of witches and witchcraft.
Samhainophobia: Fear of Halloween.
Canadophobia: Fear of overpopulation of Canadians.
